June 3, 2012 | John Bayles | Who Has Believed? (Isaiah 53:1-12)

From time to time it is important for us to review the foundational teaching of the Gospel. This is not a new message, but one that dates back to the beginning of time. From the foundation of the earth it was God’s plan to reveal Jesus Christ as the God-man and the great redeemer. Today’s sermon is an affirmation and a declaration to this truth.

Written seven hundred years before the birth of Jesus, the book of Isaiah declares these two messages. Not surprisingly, Isaiah is believed by some to have been written after the birth of Jesus, because of the precision in which it portrays the life and mission of the Lord. Oh unbelieving heart! No wonder Isaiah begins the text with a question, “Who has believed our message?” The same question is being presented today from heaven by God’s messengers of the Gospel. Do you believe?
